Chloe

story from Harper

Chloe was found on a rooftop in Taiwan to die. She was rescued and brought to California, where me, Harper, and my family rescued her. In the beginning she was the shy one and hid behind her sister. She was scared of all people and didn’t want to be touched.

Chloe is now a fun and outgoing dog who loves everyone in my family. She is still skittish around strangers and when she eats, she keeps a good distance from her bowl and herself. That makes me and my family think that where she ate on the roof, it was on the edge. Chloe is like a therapy dog to me and my sister because whenever we are sad, she sits next to us and puts her head down on our belly to show she cares.

Hugo

story from Karey

Hugo was found abandoned in a public bathroom with the other puppies in his litter. Hugo was x-rayed and found that Hugo couldn’t control or walk with his back legs. Turned out that Hugo was born with a birth defect. Hugo was fostered by a welcoming person named Karey Burek. When Hugo was fostered, he started to experience seizures that were caused by spinal inflammation because of his defect. Once they put him on a certain medication, they got worse. They got so bad that the doctors don’t know if Hugo was going to make it. When the doctors tried a different medication, the seizures immediately stopped.

When Hugo was getting neutered, something in the numbing medicine made him really sick. Because of his condition, he didn’t have a very effective. Hugo’s skin started to turn purple and he was starting to not move as much. Karey was so scared and Hugo was taken to the hospital. There, Hugo stent a little while healing. Hugo came back to Karey and to his home healthy. Hugo is living Healy and happy with Hugo and his fur sister, Denali. He is a registered therapy dog and visits schools, airports, hospitals, and shelters.

Denali

story from
Karey

Denali’s litter was living with people who were getting a divorce. The Woman got mad at the man and picked the man’s favorite dog out of the litter, Denali, and let the rest of the litter go. As for Denali, the woman poured accelerant all over the house and Denali and set the house on fire. Lucky for Denali, the fire department got to Denali before the fire did. Denali was immediately rushed to a vet. Denali ended up having 3rd degree burns on 35% of her body and no one knew if she was going to make it. Denali was bandaged and wrapped for a few moths with only a 50% chance to survive.

Denali now belongs to a kind hearted person named Karey Burek who fostered then adopted Denali and gave Denali the home she deserved. Later, Denali gave back to her community and became a registered therapy dog. She helps people that are abuse survivors. Denali is a true inspiration to the community.

Karma

story from
Bailey R

Karma is a rabbit that was abandoned at Fred Howard park. Somebody saw her and reported her, thinking that she was a skunk. After the ranger came to investigate, they found that she was actually a Dutch bunny, left on the beach by a family. Her behavior indicated she was a house pet, dropped off at the beach for some reason. The rescuer said that as people get bunnies as babies, assuming they will always be that cute, soon after realizing that they aren't as cute as they once were they leave them some place. After she was taken from the beach, rescuers took her home and posted her on facebook looking for a potential adopter. Leading up to the point my family, the Robinson’s took her home and has loved her ever since as a free ranged rabbit.
